About this policy
newhomeswithtim.com is the personal website of Tim Bennight, a Community Sales Manager employed by D.R. Horton. This policy explains what information I collect here, how I use it and the choices you have. "I" and "me" mean Tim Bennight.
What you give me
- Sign-up form: your first and last name, email address, mobile number, whether you're a home buyer, real estate agent or investor, and the neighborhood you were looking at.
- Find My Home questionnaire: your name, email and mobile number; how you found me; when you'd like to move; your price range, bedrooms, cities and must-haves; whether you've owned a home before and whether someone is buying with you; your current living situation and any notes about your move; whether you're working with a real estate agent and their name; the best way and time to reach you; and anything else you choose to tell me.
- "Already signed up? Sign back in": the email or mobile number you signed up with.
I don't ask for your Social Security number, credit, income, debts or bank information. If you apply for financing, you provide that to your lender directly.
What's collected automatically
- Where you came from: the website or link that brought you here (for example, a social media link), so I know which of my posts are helpful.
- Approximate location: your approximate city and state, based on your internet connection.
- Cookies: small cookies that keep you signed in to the home lists (for up to a year, renewed when you visit) and remember whether you signed up as a real estate agent. They aren't used for advertising.
- Server logs: my hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as internet address and browser type, for security.
This website doesn't use advertising cookies, analytics services or tracking pixels.
How I use your information
To answer your questions; to send you homes, sheets and incentive details you asked about; to contact you by text, phone or email as you agreed; to keep track of our conversations; to give you access to the home lists; and to keep this website running and secure. I don't send marketing email newsletters.
Text messages
If you give me your mobile number and agree to be contacted, I may text you about D.R. Horton homes. Consent isn't required to buy a home. Message and data rates may apply, and how often I text depends on our conversation. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts, or HELP for help. Your mobile number and texting consent are never shared with or sold to anyone for their marketing.
Who sees your information
Only me. Sign-ups and questionnaire answers come to my email and a private spreadsheet that only I can see. I don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone for their marketing.
- Service providers: Cloudflare hosts this website, protects it and delivers its email; Google provides my email, the spreadsheet and this website's fonts. They handle information only to provide those services.
- D.R. Horton and DHI Mortgage: if you choose to buy a D.R. Horton home or apply with DHI Mortgage, the information needed for that is handled through their own processes and privacy policies.
- The law: I may share information if required by law or to protect my rights or the safety of others.
How long I keep it
As long as it helps with your home search, or until you ask me to delete it.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it and remove your access to the home lists. Email tim@newhomeswithtim.com. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website or email is completely secure.
Children
This website is for adults shopping for a home. It isn't intended for anyone under 18, and I don't knowingly collect information from children.
Other websites
Links to drhorton.com, DHI Mortgage, Google Maps and other websites are governed by their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I'll post the new version here with a new "last updated" date.
